I wouldn't want to suggest lowering the diversity of exercises in your routine, or that there are only five exercises. But this is my list of the five most perfect exercises. Others have recommended variations, such as snatches with kettlebells, or chin ups, etc. But does anyone else have a different perfect five (or less) that would get all the major muscle groups?

basically all I do I is practical compound exercises, novice sryles.
squats
bench press/press
chin ups
dead lifts
power cleans
