What would your advice be?

My last job I work 8-9 hrs a day Monday thru Friday. I worked hard running around filling orders. I would even get a little persperation on my back. I would go home and work out then eat.

My new job is about 10-13hrs a day, Monday thru Friday, half a day Saturday. I sit, but I use the brain a hell of a lot more and I have to deal with customers and truck drivers all day. When I get home, I am dead tired. Sometimes I have to be at work at 3am and get off work at 5pm. I do not want to work out when I get home. I just want to wind down. My day is fustrating, disouraging, and stressful. I'm starting to gain back the weight I lost.

Any advice?

Anything, I lost 30pds last year and I need to lose these last 30 lbs!

    Jess,

Get yourself to the gym, nothing helps me more to relax (well, maybe sex is better but not always an option). I know it is hard, but once you get through the doors you will feel the energy and get moving!

    Hi Jess:

Working too many hours is one of the reasons why American's have a life expectancy that's shorter then many other countries. Still, I realize that shorter hours aren't always an option. Is there anything you could do at work to get things going in the right direction? Take the stairs instead of the elevator, stretch a little when you have a free minute, squeeze a rubber ball, keep light dumbbells in your desk and use them periodically, etc? It might not sound like much but lethergy is a vicious cycle and getting those endorphins moving in the right direction might get you motivated to do more once you leave.

Also, do something on either Saturday, or Sunday or both. Start small if need be: walking, running, etc. Also consider getting some home fitness equipment. When time is short it might workout better for you then trying to make it to the gym with all the travel time that involves.

Good luck and let me know how it goes!

    Jess,

I know what it is like to have lost a lot of weight and not want to put it back on. (I lost 150 pounds, that is why I am now a trainer) You need to make the time to exercise your body, and to eat right. It is in your best interest, not only to maintain your weight loss, but to keep healthly. At lunch get out and walk if that is possible. Andy was right about American's work habits, we are not taking care of ourselves. You don't have to go to a gym to work out your body. Walk when ever you can, use the stairs any thing to get your heart rate up. Another suggestion is to keep your eye open for a less stressful job, with better working hours. I know good jobs are hard to find, but it never hurts to keep looking. Good luck!

    Jackie
